Wow! I was 25 years old when Nixon resigned and yet I can remember very little detail. I would end up with a very odd account if I was to write an account today. 40 years is a very long time!

Strangely, writing had been in use for a good long while at the time, and you'd think something as momentous as the human manifestation of the creator of the universe being killed, and shortly afterwards coming back to life for a while before ascending to Heaven... would make it into writing immediately and everywhere in the region.

It's also amazing how a book that was deliberately pieced together from various folk lore, writings and propaganda seemed to proclaim itself to be inferable and all the prophaices that suited the narrative came true.

Not really, Sock Gnome. One can easily see that one of the prime purposes was to establish the right of the first king to rule Israel. The writings up to then really do just that. Them by the time of Josiah, when he wants to centralise the cult, suddenly the book of Deuteronomy appears, found they say. more likely it was written for the king and at his command to centralise and regulate the cult.

No no no, the gospels were all eyewitness accounts! AND, they all agree with each other PERFECTLY! How can you argue with that?

If one were to ask the "man on the street" today if they remember a man named Nixon, few if any under the age of 40 would answer yes. Given the life expectancy of the "man on the street" 2000 years ago, there would be nobody alive to remember a man named Jesus - except the few who recalled being told a story about such a man. The authors writing about a man who might have existed 40 years ago could make up anything they wished - who the hell was around to contradict them? And today we are expected to place our complete faith in these 2000 year old writings as being the word of some sort of mystical god? That expectation is without doubt the definition of irrational thought.
