Still alive - CommentResponder

I check comments on Youtube. In fact, I respond very actively there.
This comes as a huge surprise to many people, who are amazed that the creator of a 2010 video that just popped into their feed is still around discussing it.

It's really nothing special at my end. I use the Youtube Studio app for creators, and I get a feed of every comment that comes in on every video, and next to each one is a "reply" button. That's all there is to it.

I quit using Twitter, because it's fucking shit, and I don't have any social media apps on my phone. And when the channel booms, as it tends to do about once a year for no good reason, I read a lot of comments. It's enjoyable. It's not a sign of incredible commitment or anything like that. It's just something to do on my phone when I'm on the train or something. I enjoy the engagement and I like trying out different lines of persuasion with opponents.

Updates?
Well - did you notice that this year I've been making Shorts? Yeah, not many people did (relative to my subscriber count). But it has inspired me to think that I might take that idea into a main-channel project next year. I'll have time through the winter to put some work into making a series.

That's about all. Comment on a video, I'll see it.

Hey! That's me, I'm one of the people who randomly tune in once a year, and my algorithm recommended one of your vids again. Excited about a new main channel video and I'm gonna go check out the shorts, thanks.

It is uncanny that I found this shortly after finding your channel and subbing. This is all hilarious. I think The Septuagint and other apocrypha or esoteric texts would be cool also. Great job creator

Video idea that I think you could pull off for an extremely impactful topic! The old testament has a few very clear prophecies about the messiah. Jesus, of course, fulfills zero. After his death, new testament authors who needed him to be the messiah searched through the old testament trying to find any text that could remotely be attributed Jesus (out of context quotes, specific descriptions, etc). This is why we hear stupid things like "Jesus fulfilled hundreds of prophecies"....He didn't.

Their best one is Isaiah 53 because incorrect translations have things that really seem like Jesus. The problem is, the "servant" referenced is the nation of Israel, not the messiah. Christians only read 53, nothing else. They just quote mine shit out of context. No jew in history has ever viewed this as messianic. Isaiah mentions a million times that the servant is a metaphor for the nation of Israel, and when you read Isaiah, it's pretty obviously not talking about one person. The things it prophesies could not actually be about Jesus, but apply perfectly to the nation of Israel.

The typical excuse for actual messianic prophecies is that "he fulfilled them spirtitually" or "he'll fulfill them in the second coming". Additionally, the new testament authors couldn't read hebrew, so they quote-mined greek septuagint manuscripts which are not good translations of biblical hebrew. So even some of the quotes attributed to Jesus make it as if he was reading the greek and not the hebrew. The actual historical Jesus would have been reading the hebrew and not the greek because he was a Jew. This is how we know the new testament authors were just scrambling to make shit up, even things he said.

Anyway, I think if you did a dive into this topic, you could come up with something amazing and impactful. This is the topic that cemented my deconversion.
